Abstract
Background:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of low dose bupivacaine and fentanyl combination for spinal anesthesia during anorectal surgery.

Methods:V\lp collected the data from 20 patients who were scheduled for anorectal surgery, Spinal anesthesia was done using bupivacaine 2 mg (0.5% hyperbaric bupivacaine 0.4 ml) and fentanyl 50 pg (1 ml), 5 min and 1 hour after spinal anesthesia, check the sensory block level and the degree of motor block were checked.

Results:Total 18 patients were included. The sensory block was enough for the surgery and the block level was found within the sacral innervation area. All patients presented modified Bromage scale 0.

Conclusions:Spinal anesthesia using bupivacaine 2 mg (0.5% hyperbaric bupivacaine 0.4 ml) and fentanyl 50 p g (1 ml) appeared to be useful for anorectal surgery.
